After blocked by Indonesian government, Tik Tok promises to raise age limit

NEWS24.CO.ID -  The Communications and Information Minister of Indonesia, Rudiantara made a decision to block the Tik Tok phone app in Indonesia on Tuesday, July 3 2018.

And it made Zhen Liu, senior vice president of Bytedance, the company which managing the popular Tik Tok app, flew from China to meet on Wednesday, July 4 2018 to Indonesia.

As quoted from Shanghaiist, the came of Liu to Indonesia, to discuss the ministry’s move to block that app. Beside TikTok, Bytedance also have another app, such as Musical.ly and other video platforms.

Zhen said that the company was committed to following the government’s regulation to be able to continue its presence in Indonesia.  Because Zhen said that they  have 10 million active users a month in Indonesia.

And Zhen also promised to set the age limit at 16 years old and said for security, the company would hire 200 of content moderators in Indonesia.

As we know, after got many reported about TikTok app, the goverment of Indonesia decided to blocked Tik Tok, because the app contained "pornography, inappropriate content and blasphemy".
