Figo makes Fifa presidency bid

NEWS24.CO.ID - The former Portuguese international footballer, Luis Figo, has become the latest person to enter the race to unseat Sepp Blatter as the president of FIFA.

Luis Figo, a former world player of the year, said he had decided to run because of his love of the game, and a desire to restore the reputation of football's scandal-hit governing body.

Figo says he has the backing of five national football associations which is required for him to enter the race.

Other challengers to Sepp Blatter in the May election include Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein of Jordan and the French former international, David Ginola.
